Sukratindra tirtha, You are the dust off the feet of Vyasa raghupati; Staying
close to Bharati pati Mukhyaprana, meditating on Sri Venkatesha in Your heart,
wearing a saffron cloth, and with the aavesha of Vayu, ruling over the
sanyasis, please reside in this vrindavana at Gosripura.
(Building of a
vrindavana of a Guru means there is a presence of Mukhyaprana Vaayu in the
place. This is one of the reasons why a vayu prateeka is placed on top of
vrindavana)

O Guru, grant us the

(This and the next few
verses explain the gist of Maadhva tenets)
We run behind money
and other sensory objects; we have meaningless knowledge of ‘mithya’ (we have
always misunderstood about Lord; we are having the wrongful knowledge of
advaita in us); our life is wasted, but we are arrogant and intolerably proud;
We are cunning and we think that ‘I am the doer, I am the true caretaker’; all
our knowledge is ‘anyathaa jnana’ – incorrect knowledge;
O compassionate
Gurunatha, bless us so that we have the right knowledge (of Tattvavada) which
is:
- Doer is Lord Hari
- Lord indeed is the
caretaker of everyone
- He takes incarnation
to clean this earth of the wicked
- He is Saakaara and
Saguna (has a form and has attributes and not niraakara and nirguna)
- Everything else here
is temporary on this earth
- Only a person who is
the servant of Guru gets this knowledge.

The Sashasti brahmins
(belonging to 66 places or families) of Gauda-desha, who belonged to 10 gotras
and were brought down to the noble Gomantak region (Goa) by Lord Bhruguja
Parashurama for the sake of Yajnas.
These scholars greatly
liked the pure Tattvajnana of Madhva-siddhanta which explained that
a) this world created
by Lord is clearly real (and not mithya)
b) But this physical
world is insentient (jaDa)
c) There is difference
between Jiva and Isha (ie., Jivatma and paramatma are different they are not
same).
d) The above
difference is eternal
e) There are infinite
jivas, which are different from Paramatma who is only One.
f) God has no
defects
g) Jivas are His
servants forever. (they neither become equal to God nor merge in God)
h) Paramatma is the
Lord of all the jivas (in this samsara and also after mukti)
These Gauda-saraswat
Brahmins who were ever-involved in the study of Vedas and other scriptures, who
were skillful in music and other creative arts, started enjoying in the pure
bliss obtained by Maadhva shastras and rested.

O Guru Sukratindra,
You gave disciple-hood to a noble shishya who was knower of sat-shaastras, who
was a scholar and devoted; You named such a noble and blissful disciple as
‘Srimat-Sudhindra’, elevating us and fulfilling our wishes of having a noble
yati (in the parampara); by this, You protected us by cleaning up our sins and
by shooing away the sinful Kali and blessed us with the fruits we
desired.

One who reads this
stotra of 10 verses, gets the grace of Hari-Guru.
Sri Madhvacharya is
the one who wrote commentaries on Brahma-sutras (and hence known as
Brahma-sutra-bhashyacharya). Such Madhva who is known as ‘Sutra’, will provide
wisdom to the disciples.
(Madhva is known as
‘Sutra’ in shastras, as everything is threaded through Him); This stotra
can grant all desires for one’s brother, mother, father and kith and for
obtaining the grace of Guru; reciting this stotra is the formula for fulfilling
financial desires too.
*This concludes Sri
Sukratindra Mahima Stuti by Sri Sant Bhadragiri Achyutdas*
